The Marsden Nature Detectives

Saturday saw the birth of our all new kids nature club. We had a few technical difficulties to start off with but we all had fun improvising with our activities.

We headed out into the park to see what we could find armed with binoculars, magnifying glasses and collection baskets. After collecting a few interesting things we tried to identify what we had, but then just had fun making pictures out of our natural treasures.

You can't see the face very well on this picture, maybe if you squint!

The picture building soon developed into building a house for the fairies.

And finally our failed attempt at building a child size den became the snake's log pile house from Julia Donaldson's The Gruffalo.

The most amazing thing of the morning was watching the kids naturally work as a team to move the larger items needed. Good honest fun in the outdoors and by consensus we now have a name....The Marsden Nature Detectives. Come and join the investigation on Saturday 11th May, 10am at Marsden Old Hall.
